“ I believe a girl can love a horse and a horse can trust a girl and amazing things can happen!”
That pretty much sums up Shy. He was a traumatized three year old when we rescued him. I will never know what happened to him to make him so scared of people I only thank God he was rescued and saved.
Shy’s story is the epitome of trust. He had absolutely none when first coming here. Slowly in the beginning and day by day we built our trust in each other together. There are so many small miracles along the way like when he first allowed me to pick up his foot or the time a ball of bobbed wire got blown into the pasture and managed to somehow get entangled around his back leg and tail and he stood calm and patient for me while I untangled him. And I’ll never forget the day he allowed me onto his back for the first time. It has been a long slow journey with him but so incredibly rewarding. He has blossomed into a confident, attention seeking, people loving horse. Everyone falls in love with Shy and though he’s not so shy anymore, he will always be my Shy Boy.
